Dear TengoInternet Customer,
I hope this August update finds you well – either finishing a great summer season or preparing for the fall. I just returned to 102 degrees in Austin from a family trip to Wyoming, visiting a few campgrounds while enjoying the Grand Tetons and Targhee.
As many of you know, a priority of the company is employing military veterans and a third of our employees are military veterans. We’re proud and excited to announce that TengoInternet earned the 2020 Military Friendly® Employer designation proving to be “Better for Veterans”. It is our second consecutive year! Military Friendly® is the standard that measures an organization’s commitment, effort and success in creating sustainable and meaningful benefit for the military community. See https://www.militaryfriendly.com/ for more information.
Industry & Customer Trends
One trend I wanted to highlight this month is campground technology design to support new properties and property improvements. We are seeing more new campgrounds and expansions than at any other time in my 18 years in the industry. In supporting new campground construction and expansions, we are seeing more fiber circuits, fiber-to-the-pedestal connectivity, a continued transition from cable TV to internet-based services, premium in-door internet coverage, access point coverage supporting guests, operations and a number of applications – the internet of things. Call or email if we can help – we’ll also be speaking about these trends at ARVC’s 2019 Outdoor Hospitality Conference and Expo which will take place November 4-7, 2019 in Knoxville, Tennessee.
Russell Hughes has been promoted to Customer Success Manager. One of the key customer support roles in our company is the Customer Success Manager (CSM), who has primary responsibility for the satisfaction, education and alignment of company resources for our Customers. Russell joined TengoInternet as a Guest Support Agent, earned certifications as a Certified Wireless Network Administrator and helped our Network Operations with property support. As a Guest Support Agent, Russell consistently went above and beyond to serve our customers and their guests, which made him a great candidate for the CSM role. We’re excited about Russell moving into the Customer Success Manager position so that he can continue to serve you with excellence.
Due to the number of new property builds and improvements, we invested in 1) fiber line tools, a partnership with CommScope and employee certifications to support low voltage construction design and installations and 2) technology project management as many of our customers are having to coordinate electrical, internet, TV and security contractors and wanted us to be on their project team.
I think TengoInternet made progress in 2019 on our mission to Connect People for Success – you are a key part of our mission. I am grateful to know and serve you and wish you a prosperous 2020.
Until next month, may God bless you, your family and your business.
