Dear TengoInternet Customer,
What a week in our country – school starts, Delta variant, Hurricane Ida, the withdrawal from Afghanistan – as we prepare for the biggest camping Labor Day ever. Regarding the former, we have friends and customers who evacuated NOLA and we are a Military Friendly Employer.
I had a great family road trip in late July / August, camping through Colorado, Wyoming, and Utah (driving out of Texas from Austin is a road trip in itself!).
A FEW THINGS
“XX Days to Labor Day” were the signs I saw in the office backgrounds for most of the Zoom customer calls in the last two weeks. With pervasive staffing shortages and 28.46 million households planning to camp this weekend (according to KOA’s August Monthly Research Report) – most of you are looking forward to the big weekend and then rest!
July Consumer WiFi Trends
-
- 25% increase in July Premium connections over July 2020
- 5.11% of WiFi connections were Smart TVs
- 2.2% of WiFi connections were Wemo smart light switches (make sure your WiFi can support browserless devices)
- 2% of devices used WiFi calling
- An upward shift in campgrounds offering Free WiFi plans to support streaming and video conferencing
See You at National Association of State Park Directors Conference (NASPD), Texas Association of Campground Owners Meeting & Trade Show (TACO), and The Glamping Show USA in the coming weeks (and ARVC Outdoor Hospitality Conference & Expo, KOA Conference & Expo, and PCOA later in the Fall)!
WiFi and Cap Rate. One of our customers penned an article about making improvements to prepare a campground for a potential sale – it included the case for WiFi on your business valuation.
We Are Ready to Serve This Labor Day Weekend! During this holiday weekend, our team is here for you. To ensure your WiFi network experience is excellent, we want to remind you that we are here to assist you with your guests and with your network.
One last shout out – Happy 100th Birthday to Cherry Hill Park and the Gurevich Family! An amazing milestone and generational achievement. We are grateful to be serving you and our industry – let’s keep connecting!
God bless you, your families and your work.
Sincerely,
Eric Stumberg
